The other morning, I was asked what part of my work do I enjoy the most? (not verbatim, but more along the lines of what lights me up most in what I do?) The only thing that came to mind was not an actual skillset or specific program of the many that I utilize for designing websites, creating social media posts, flyers, banners, etc., but more precisely the ability to connect an idea or desired message to someone through my designs and creativity. To have the ability to use my creativity and to build something in order to reach a targeted audience in hopes of connecting with them! It has been a blessing and great privilege to have an opportunity to work alongside companies, entrepreneurs and my church to reach people with the ultimate message from the most solid foundation that I ever designed/built from! It is a true gift to be able to use my talents to relay what scripture tells to share with the world, the Word of God through authorities at my church with people who need Jesus. I knew I was meant for more, and what a blessing it is to have and know that joy in Jesus and to know that what I am doing truly matters! That is why when I create something, I give thanks to God, He is the ultimate creator and I get to experience that blessing.

Ephesians 5:15-21
You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you. This I command you, that you love one another.

Now, I would openly like to share my least favorite area I enjoy. Social media. It’s rather ironic because while I love people and being around people, it is my least skilled asset as I feel I lack certain social abilities. For some reason, social media keeps presenting to me. The spread of misinformation and its negative effects on people is all too evident. Various studies show how it impacts mental health and just seeing how it impacts those around me is enough to be sickened by the stories I have read and heard about. Living in a world that is constantly being marketed to and in my line of work, I can see how people are getting fished for and how they take the bait. I have grown a sincere distaste for social media and the self-promotion that runs rampant. At first, I prayed that social media would go away because of the dark things being shared, cyberbullying, harassment, fake news, and how it is using algorithms to target our younger generation with clickbait and other horrible things. Now, I view social media like a bar- you can choose to scroll there and partake in the activities or it can be used as a tool to reach those in need. Just as Jesus visited these places with people in need of a savior, I am following suit even though I feel I lack the whole “social” aspect. I have faith that Christ will provide me in my areas of weakness and make me strong.

Ephesians 5:15-20
<sup class="versenum">15 </sup>So then, be careful how you walk, not as unwise people but as wise, <sup class="versenum">16 </sup>making the most of your time, because the days are evil. <sup class="versenum">17 </sup>Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. <sup class="versenum">18 </sup>And do not get drunk with wine, in which there is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, <sup class="versenum">19 </sup>speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your hearts to the Lord; <sup class="versenum">20 </sup>always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to our God and Father;

Lets be careful with what we allow our hearts and minds to be filled with and be aware of what we are producing with what we learn. Just because something is shared on social media doesn’t mean it’s right, put what you are learning to a test!
